You can’t take a trip to Belfast without stopping to spend an afternoon at Belfast Castle. The beautiful castle sits atop Cave Hill, where it has been for hundreds of years. Like many other castles in Ireland and England, Belfast Castle has a unique history to it that can’t be matched. Tours are offered daily through the castle grounds and can be inquired about by simply contacting the box office. In addition to a casual tour around the grounds and through the winding tunnels deep within the castle, holiday packages are also available. At different times of the year the castle will host a “theme” so guests can keep coming back and experience a new attraction every time.

If a tour doesn’t take your fancy, there is also an upscale restaurant within the castle walls. Menus are available on the castle’s website. If a day of navigating ancient tunnels and eating great food still doesn’t sound like fun, you can take a stroll through the castle grounds and explore the luscious gardens that expand outwards. The prices for all of the activities aren’t exorbitant either. The castle runs different specials throughout the year to attract more guests, so if you’re planning on going to Belfast, and are interested in seeing the castle during your trip, try to book around the specials so you can save some money. And if you’re looking for a quaint place to stay, there are hotels situated just outside the castle that may be exactly what you’re looking for.

One of the main reasons that Belfast car hire is so popular is the fact that there is a great deal to do just outside Belfast. Whilst, if you were planning on staying entirely in the city you would not be short of things to do, it would be a shame not to explore the rich history of Ireland.

The giant causeway for example is one of the most famous areas in Britain and it is without doubt a staggering site. The causeway is known for being a must visit area in Northern Ireland and whereas there is a bus service available it isn’t the most fun way to travel especially if the weathers hot or you have children. The causeway, of course, is not the only point of interest in the surrounds of Belfast. A trip to Londonderry is among one of the other popular days out and with just cause, the town’s historic character is similar in ways to many of the popular old roman towns of the UK, (Chester, York and Exeter for example). Amongst the other local sites are St. Patrick’s grave and Carrickfergus castle, these are well worth a look. But whether you’re out for site seeing or not care hire is often a good way to go.

But, with the layout of the area and the distance between the staggeringly beautiful points of interest surrounding Belfast would make walking out of the question and buses a major inconvenience so why not take a look at some great value Belfast car hire.
