This is Going to Be a Good Summer

In less than a month, I am going to have another semester of university under my belt. Since the end of this semester will mark the end of my first year in university, I am actually quite excited about having the summer off so that I can recharge my batteries and be ready to kick off my second year in the fall. Because it is difficult to find short term housing during the summer, I will be spending mine with my parents back at home. The great thing about going home to live with your parents for the summer is that you get to slack off and have them do laundry for you once again (instead of worrying about it yourself).

I may have given you the idea that my university semester is completely over, but as you may have guessed, I do have all of my final examinations to take. In spite of the fact that I have several buddies who are absolutely dreading the prospect of taking their final examinations, I have already put in a lot of time studying, so I couldn’t feel any better about my own. Because I am feeling good about my final examinations, I have already planned a little treat for myself this summer. Once I move back home to Belfast, I am taking an old friend with me and we are picking up a Belfast car hire I reserved. Our purpose in reserving a Belfast car hire is to use it for a week to take a road trip that we have planned out. The great thing about my friend is that although we go to different universities, as soon as we see each other, we pick up like we never left off, which is why this road trip will be so much fun.

I’m Not Letting Anything Cancel My Trip

Since it has been the main focus of bloggers, newspapers and the television media for the last month or so, you have undoubtedly heard about the swine flu virus that began in Mexico and is spreading around the world. The reason people took notice of the H1N1 flu virus is because as it was spreading throughout Mexico, it was the cause of the deaths of many people there. Although it is true that the H1N1 virus has continued its spread across the world, it is not causing the same level of fatalities that it initially did in Mexico. I brought this issue up because it is hard for me to figure out why people continue to be extremely worried about swine flu when it is proving to be much less serious than initially believed. While I find it strange that there is still such a high level of worry about swine flu, a lot of nations are still taking steps to try and lessen the fears of their citizens.

Because I planned it over three months ago, I have decided that regardless of all these swine flu worries, I am not canceling that trip I have planned. I have a trip to Belfast planned for the end of July, and in spite of all the worries that people around the world are having, I will definitely be going there and having a great time. After spending time tracking down great deals on my flight, hotel room and Belfast airport car hire, there’s no way I am giving those up and canceling my trip to Belfast. The one reason that I don’t think I will actually have to worry about canceling my trip is because by the time it actually arrives, I bet the news media will have something new to make people worry about more than swine flu!
